Where Am I?

It is interesting to me to see different aspects of Japan. At popular tourist destinations, I hear all kindsn of languages including many I cannot identify. But walk down a side street and you get pure Japan.

An interesting benefit (or downside) to using Google Maps out here is that sometimes it takes you down residential paths of this kind to “save time.” I love to explore these areas and take it all in; however, others tend to especially look at me like an interloper in these areas.

But, then, you turn the corner and you see a mass of humanity again. In this case, it was crowds of tourists, school groups, and locals visiting Osaka’s Korea Town.

It was my last day in Osaka and I’m glad I got to see it’s many different sides. There are definitely more wealthy (and tourist attracting) areas and some that are more suburban. I ended my time in Osaka by drinking in the landscape at the top the Umeda Sky Building.

さよなら Osaka!
