Australia: Sydney

Took a trip to the Opera House and around Sydney today.

The history of the Opera House and it’s construction is really interesting. The original architect was Dutch but it was finished by a group of Australians under his advisement. The whole structure is done with concrete blocks. It’s really impressive.

We walked around for great views of the Opera House and the bridge.

It was a beautiful, though windy, day to walk around.

We took a walk to Sydney Tower. There was some great restaurants there and some awesome views up top.

Next, we walked to St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The churches here were built with the hull of a ship as their roof. Makes sense for a harbor town.
